Slough Walk February 18, 2018 Ronald Smith Took a short, hot walk through the Six Mile Cypress Slough with the best buddy anyone could hope for. It looks like we had a swearing in ceremony before the walk... just one of his many impromptu poses when you ask him for a photo. The second of 2 snakes we saw today. Still trying to ID the first one and couldn't get a good photo. This moccasin was hanging out right beside the boardwalk. Calm water at the slough He was a trooper even with the heat, but this was one of the brief stretches where he carried the backpack that he insisted on bringing. We heard this pair of hawks long before we saw them. One is center frame and the other is upper-left. Anhinga hanging out.
